Da heute die Derniere von We will rock you ist (schnief), ist der Song der Woche passend dazu.
Der Song wurde bei jeder Bandnight gespielt und ist nicht nur ein wahnsinnig guter Song, er hat auch einen wundervollen Text.

1. Freddie Mercury
Undoubtedly one of the single greatest rock frontmen to ever walk the planet, Freddie’s passing in 1991 left a gaping hole that has never truly been filled since. Think that metal hasn’t benefited from his legacy? Ask your favourite singers who their favourite frontmen of all time are and see what they come up with…
2. That ‘Wayne’s World’ Scene
When it comes to iconic rock ‘n’ roll moments in cinematic history, you just cannot fuck with five mates wedged into a 1976 AMC Pacer losing their shit to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Come on, we’ve all been there.
3. ‘Flash Gordon’
You haven’t lived if you haven’t watched legendary camp 1980 sci fi classic ‘Flash Gordon’ while belting out Brain Blessed quotes, and it was Queen who laid down the soundtrack for the colourful romp – including its famed title theme. All together now: “……FLASH!!”
 4. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert
Alright, we’ll admit that there were a couple of artists that played Freddie’s 1992 tribute show that don’t flick our switch, but star turns from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Spinal Tap, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant definitely do.
5. Brian May
He still has one of the dodgiest barnets in the history of rock ‘n’ roll, but he’s also a living legend and knows his way around a mean riff and a bit of shred when he fancies it. Plus, he has a PHD in Astronomy! All hail the May!
6. Metallica <3 Queen
There aren’t many prominent metal bands who don’t owe something to Queen somewhere down the line, but Metallica embraced their Queen-love right from the start, both performing at the Tribute Concert and famously covering Queen’s 1974 hit ‘Stone Cold Crazy’.
7. ‘Highlander’
As well as ‘Flash’, Queen also famously contributed heavily to the soundtrack for this blade-wielding cult classic from 1986. Sean Connery playing an Ancient Egyptian Immortal who has battled across Babylonia, Greece and China? Oh, go on then.
8. John Deacon
Often an unsung hero in Queen’s lineup, John not only wrote some of the band’s most legendary hits – including ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ – but his ability to sneak funk elements into his style of playing has proven influential to countless rock and metal bassists over the years.
9. Metal Covers
We’ve lost count of how many metal bands and artists have covered Queen songs over the years, both live and on record, from the aforementioned Metallica cover to efforts from W.A.S.P., Lemmy, Blind Guardian and Gun ‘N Roses, plus the 1997 tribute album ‘Dragon Attack’, featuring members of Anthrax, Dream Theater, Ozzy Osbourne’s band, Deep Purple and more. Oh, and The Muppets did ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ once. Obviously.
10. Roger Taylor
Few prominent rock bands feature as much creative input from all of their members as Queen, and drummer Roger Taylor wrote and co-wrote many of their hits, including ‘Stone Cold Crazy’, ‘Radio Gaga’ and ‘It’s A Kind Of Magic’. Nicely done, Roger.

Top 3 Alben (zumindest momentan)

Ich habe gedacht, ich führe hier kleine Top ... Listen an, die ich euch hier präsentieren möchte.
Beginnen werde ich mit meinen drei momentan Lieblingsalben. Vielleicht ist ja die ein oder andere Inspiration dabei. Dazu möchte ich noch sagen, dass es hier keinen Platz 1 etc. gibt. Ich nenne einfach die drei Alben :)

Anfangen möchte ich mit einem Künstler aus England, der gerade richtig durchstartet. Sein Name ist
TOM ODELL und seine EP heißt Songs from another love.

Thorsten Willer ist ein Singer/Songwriter aus Wuppertal und schreibt wirklich wunderschöne Songs! Mit seiner Band Soledown war er sogar der Support-Act auf der letzten Tour von Tom Beck :)

We Will Rock You Essen 29.05.2013

Heute komme ich endlich dazu, euch von meinem Trip nach Essen zu berichten.

Wir sind mit dem Zug nach Essen gefahren. Der Zug in Stuttgart fuhr natürlich nicht pünktlich ab (gut, was erwartet man auch anderes, ne?^^). Hatten anfangs 25 Minuten Verspätung. Von Halt zu Halt wurde es mehr. Das Einzige, was etwas entschädigt hat, war, dass die Fahrt direkt am Rhein vorbeigeführt und wir so einen schönen Blick auf den Fluss und die Landschaft drumherum hatten :).

Als wir dann endlich in Essen ankamen, hatten wir 50 Minuten Verspätung. Leider gibt es erst ab einer Stunde einen Erstattungsanspruch. Na gut, wir haben dann schnell ein Taxi genommen und sind ins Hotel gefahren. Das Holiday Inn Express in Essen kann ich euch wirklich weiterempfehlen :)
Das geile war, dass das Hotel nur zwei Gehminuten vom Colosseum Theater liegt. Wir also schnell hin. Leider hats wegen der Verspätung nicht mehr zur Stage Door gereicht.

Als wir drinnen waren, bin ich erstmal zum Merch Stand und habe mich mit einem neuen T-Shirt, der Kette und dem neuen Programmheft ausgestattet. Nebendran hing die Castlist:



Das Theater innen wie draußen ist absolut beeindruckend! Ihr müsst da unbedingt mal hinfahren!

Die Bühne für die Bandnight war schon aufgebaut. Da wir etwas später dran waren, dauerte es auch nicht lange, bis die Türen zum Saal aufgingen und ich endlich wieder diesen wunderschönen Vorhang zu Gesicht bekam! Wie sehr ich das vermisst hab...

Zum Glück ging die Show dann auch gleich los. Zu Beginn gab es schon eine Änderung. Der eingeblendete Text während Innuendo war komplett anders... Es gab auch während der Show einige Veränderungen, die, wie ich finde, nicht unbedingt so gut sind. Alles in allem ist die Show  nach wie vor pure Gänsehaut! Die Cast war super, die Band hat absolut gerockt! Der weite Weg hat sich mehr als gelohnt :)

Nach der Show sind wir gleich rausgestürmt zur Bühne und konnten einen Platz ganz vorne erhaschen. Wie das bei guten Konzerten so ist, haben wir erstmal ne Weile gewartet.^^
Aber dann gings los. Viele Ensemblemitglieder konnten zeigen, wie verdammt gut sie sind und haben wirklich geile Songs gesungen. Die Principals kamen natürlich auch nicht zu kurz. Moderiert wurde die Bandnight von DMJ und Leo van Leeuwenberg.

Wir sind dann direkt danach gegangen, was ich mittlerweile echt bereue. Danach muss ne mega Party gestiegen sein!^^

Am nächsten Tag haben wir noch etwas die Stadt besichtigt und bei einem sehr guten Italiener zu Mittag gegessen.
Um 16 Uhr gings dann wieder zurück nach Stuttgart. Anfangs mit 20 Minuten Verspätung, die aber wie durch ein Wunder aufgeholt wurden.
